Reporting Antisocial Behaviour

Aberdeenshire does not currently have one dedicated telephone helpline to report antisocial behaviour. Contact details for different sources of help are listed below:

Neighbour Complaints/Disputes and Other Forms of Antisocial Behaviour

If you are a Council tenant experiencing problems with antisocial behaviour within or near your home, contact your local Housing Office.

abandoned carIf you are a tenant of Registered Social Landlord you should report problems to your housing provider. You can find contact details of the Registered Social Landlords that provide or manage property within Aberdeenshire.

If you are an owner-occupier or a tenant of a private landlord, you can receive support from our Antisocial Behaviour Support Officers.

Flytipping and litter in AberdeenshireFly-tipping and Litter

Fly-tipping and litter can be reported to the Council via the Wasteline on 0845 600 3900

Grampian Police

The following types of antisocial behaviour should be reported to Grampian Police on their non-emergency number 0845 600 5 700

  • Vandalism and other damage to property
  • People racing in cars
  • Nuisance behaviour
  • Misuse of alcohol in public places
  • Verbal/physical abuse

Aberdeenshire Council Environmental Health Service

The Council’s Environmental Health Service can deal with complaints of noise from all sectors, including noise from private properties. Complaints should be referred to the Principal Environmental Health Officer for your area. Contact details can be found at our Environmental Protection pages

phone boxIf you have any information about who is responsible for acts of vandalism in your area, you can contact Grampian Police in confidence, without giving your details (unless you specifically wish to be a witness). Simply text details of the crime to Grampian Police on 0773 993 4444

For example:

  • What happened (e.g. 3 broken windows, spray painting, etc.)
  • Where and when it happened
  • The name(s) of whoever is responsible, or as much detail and description as possible. If there is a group, give details of those others present at the time
