Aberdeenshire Historic Kirkyards

A survey of historic kirkyards in Aberdeenshire was carried out in 1998, the results of which are detailed below. The report incorporated a structural survey to determine the extent to which each kirkyard would need a programme of conservation repairs and an analysis of their contents for future interpretive potential.

This report provided the basis for a comprehensive programme of maintenance and repair which is ongoing and has seen work completed on 8 kirkyards with the assistance of funding from the Heritage Lottery.
