Following the Council decision to transfer the operation of caravan parks, investigation into the possibilities of community group involvement for the management and operation of this park is still ongoing. However, at this stage it is unlikely that a conclusion in terms of Community Asset Transfer will be achieved by the 1 April 2012 in time for the new tourist season. It is therefore recommended that these sites be offered for lease on the open market as a matter of some urgency. By enacting this commercial option the Council is utilising a fall back position in terms of the long term sustainability of these sites. The Community Asset Transfer policy will be enacted in parallel with this and the Trusts will not be disadvantaged in any way. Interim arrangements are currently being developed and it is intended that the park will be open for business for the start of the 2012 season.

The caravan park is closed for the Winter Season
