Short breaks and respite

We have leased and furnished a flat at Dalvenie Gardens to provide a short breaks/respite service to enable us to determine the level of need for this type of resource.

Short breaks/respite accommodation is provided to give the opportunity for a relaxed and enjoyable break away from your normal routine with the support and care you are assessed as requiring.

There are various reasons why you may wish to make use of a short breaks/respite facility, such as:

  • Your carer or family may require a break or holiday. The short breaks/ respite flat can provide alternative accommodation while your carer takes a break
  • An occasional break may help you feel more able to remain in your own home
  • You may feel that your are not coping at home but are not sure about moving to what could perhaps be more suitable accommodation. The short breaks/respite flat can be used to sample life in very sheltered housing and help you make the decision about whether or not you wish to move
