Robertson Road Resource Centre
Robertson Road Resource Centre provides a day service to adults who have a disability.
The building is designed to give ease of access to people with a disability.
Users of the service have the opportunity for personal development in the areas of social, physical and mental wellbeing.
The service provides:
- leisure and recreation
- life skills
- employment and vocational training
- further education
- a specialised service for people who have a multiple disability, and
- a mental health outreach project.
Day service provision is not confined to the centre complex. Wherever possible use is made of community facilities such as community centre, college of further education, leisure centre, employment placements, shops, library, etc.
There are approximately 80+ users of the service. You do not have to attend the resource centre directly, some individuals choose to use services on an outreach basis only.
Group and vocational activities are used to help self-advocacy, confidence building, assertiveness and other social skills experiences.
We support a number of therapeutic and vocational projects.

Can-do community recycling project
Can-do, a play upon words to highlight ability rather than disability, was initially based at the resource centre. The project is now based at 1 West Shore Industrial Estate, Fraserburgh where it continues to expand its invaluable community service.
For more information you can visit the project's website www.candorecycling.co.uk or call 01346 513555.
Cafe Connect
The Robertson Road Resource Centre website is maintained by the Cafe Connect project members. The website will give up to date information about the resource centre. Visit our website at www.robertsonroad.org.uk
The project has extensive links with Fraserburgh Community Web and project members have demonstrated great commitment to the development of this initiative.
The Fraserburgh Community Web, in conjunction with Tenants First, have secured premises in Fraserburgh town centre for a community based cyber café. The project is also looking to forge partnerships with other community organisations to progress the initiative into a more inclusive community enterprise.
Project members have attained the skill and knowledge to maintain the Fraserburgh Community Web site.
Coffee bar project
This initiative enables people to develop skills related to the food industry and can be utilised as a stepping stone to the community for individuals who wish to pursue a career in this area.
With funding from community sponsorship and partial funding from Aberdeenshire Council this facility was totally rebuilt in 2002. This development has enabled the project to provide greater opportunities to more individuals who may chose this service option. With support from the Information Technology project members, the Coffee Bar now have an Internet café session. This is open to the public on Wednesday afternoons.
The above projects are only a taster of what is available within day service. If you are would like to access the service please come along and visit the resource centre before making any decisions or referrals.
