Services for people with a learning disability

Services and assessment

People who have learning disabilities have access to social work services as well as services dedicated specifically to the needs associated with a learning disability.

An assessment of need is carried out to identify which services and supports you require. This assessment is called a community care assessment and may be carried out by a social worker, a care manager or health staff.

A package of care is developed based on your identified needs. We aim to provide services which are community based and promote social integration.
