What happens if I contact the domestic abuse team?

We will give you advice over the phone, or meet with you to give you information or discuss what support you would like. You can choose what means of contact suits you best.

We will visit you where you feel safe, for example at home, at a friend’s, at a GP surgery or a social work office.

If you need ongoing support from the team you can be allocated a domestic abuse specialist social worker or for a child, support can be given by a family support worker.

The service is voluntary and you can stop contact with the team at any time you choose.

When you phone for help, if no one is available in the office please leave a message on the answering machine with a number where it is safe to get in contact with you.
