How do I cover my tracks on the PC?

At the end of your session on the Internet, to prevent the pages you have been viewing from showing up, you need to do the following:

If you are using Internet Explorer on a PC:

  • Pull down the Tools menu at the top of the browser and select Internet Options
  • Click on the 'Delete Files' and 'Clear History' buttons on the general page

If you are using Internet Explorer on a Mac:

  • Pull down the Edit menu from the top toolbar, and select Preferences
  • Expand the 'Web Browser' item, and select 'Advanced'
  • Click the 'Clear History', and 'Empty Now' buttons.

If you are using Netscape on a PC or Mac:

  • Pull down the Edit menu from the top toolbar, and select Preferences
  • From the Navigator screen, click on 'Clear History', and 'Clear Location Bar'
  • To clear the cache, select the Advanced option on the left, and then Cache
  • Click 'Clear Memory Cache', and 'Clear Disk Cache'

  • Pull down the Members menu, select Preferences
  • Click on WWW icon
  • Then select Advanced, and click 'Purge Cache'

If you are using Firefox:

  • Pull down the Tools menu, select Options
  • Click on the Privacy icon, and click 'Clear Browsing History Now' button on the History tab

If you are using Opera:

  • Pull down the Tools menu, select Preferences
  • Click on 'Clear' on the History tab and 'Empty Now' on the Cache tab
