Self Directed Support - In Control Pilot

Hands Releasing ButterfliesMost people who use social work services get a service organised by their care manager. This is agreed after the social worker / care manager assesses their needs. Some people are happy with their service. Others want to try new things or different things.

If you want more choice and control over how services are provided you can ask your social worker / care manager about an In Control payment. In Control is based on a new way of working out how much money individuals get to achieve their outcomes. It is intended to give you more freedom.

Hands in the AirAberdeenshire Council is running an In Control pilot. This pilot is running for a year and has 30 places. If you are interested in being part of the pilot please talk to your social worker / care manager. They can make a referral to the In Control Steering Group, if it is appropriate. We need to have a range of age, disability and location represented on the pilot so not everyone can be accepted.

If the pilot is successful, In Control could be made available to everyone who wants to access it.

If you would like more information about self directed support and the In Control pilot please contact your social worker / care manager or call the Project Officer (Self Directed Support) on 01467 627969.
