Are you a time-served tradesperson looking for a fresh challenge?

If yes, then Aberdeenshire Council has a host of opportunities for individuals wishing to enter this type of employment.

We are continually involved in a wide range of projects across the Aberdeenshire area and we require a large team of tradespeople to complete these projects.

We also look after and maintain property and facilities across Aberdeenshire, all requiring the skills of different tradespeople. A selection of trades, which we employ include:

  • Carpenter/Joiner
  • Horticulture
  • Plumber
  • Electrician
  • Roofer/Slater
  • Bricklayer/Builder
  • Masons
  • Mechanics

What qualifications and experience do you need?

add alt textIf you are aged between 16 and 24 and you want to get involved with a modern apprenticeship we advise you get in touch with either the S.E.C.T.T , the S.N.I.P.E.F or the CITB.


Different application stages to the CITB:

  • Contact your local CITB – www.beconstructive.co.uk.
  • Complete an application form either online or manually.
  • Complete some simple assessments ensuring your suitability to your desired apprenticeship.
  • Aberdeenshire Council and other employers contact the CITB when apprentices are required and are advised on a suitable pool of candidates.
  • If we decide to employ you, CITB will arrange a meeting to discuss training plans and terms of employment.
  • CITB Construction Skills will manage the training part of your employment. You will be required to spend time in college and time gaining work experience with Aberdeenshire Council.
  • Completing these stages will help you on your way to carrying out a modern apprenticeship.
