PDA in Childcare and Education

The PDA in Childcare and Education was developed by a consortium of nine Scottish Colleges in Consultation with the Scottish Qualifications Authority.

The PDA is designed to be post HNC level and addresses the gap in provision for a post-qualifying award which will enhance and create greater confidence in current professional practice in Childcare and Education.

The distance learning programme comprises of 5 units including:

• Effective Leadership in Childcare and Education
• European Perspectives in Childcare and Education
• Professional Study in Childcare and Education
• Promotion of Language and Literacy in Childcare and Education

This is a one year programme that requires approximately 6 hours study time per week. Applicants must have completed Early Years in HNC or Level III.
