Over 50’s Groups

There are a wide variety of groups, clubs and activities for older people. These are usually run on a weekly basis. Activities can include creative writing, reading and discussion groups, games, dance, fitness classes, walkers and music groups.

These are run in a variety of ways. Some have a paid tutor who leads a class; others are run by a volunteer tutor, or by a voluntary representative of the group taking the lead role. The groups can be for fun and socialising, getting to know other people in the community, to learn new skills, and in some cases to gain a qualification.
