Outings & Excursions
Many CLD programmes involve young people taking part in activities
away from where they live whether for an evening, a day or a longer stay.
Aberdeenshire Council recognises the risks involved in taking young people on outings and excursions and has put a number of measures in place to ensure their safety. Some examples are given below.
- Risk assessments completed for every excursion
- Information and consent forms issued to parents for all outings and excursions
- All adventurous activities registered with Adventure Scotland Ltd. Using only companies and instructors approved by Adventure Scotland Ltd for adventurous activities
- Appropriate number of adults to young people
- Appropriate first aid provision
- Criminal record disclosures completed for anyone working with young people
- Public liability insurance
- All youth exchanges are registered with the British Council Scotland
