Monitoring and Evaluation
Monitoring and Evaluation
We need to be able to measure the progress that we are making. In the first community plan we had an action programme, which had a list of actions that would enable us to develop community planning in Aberdeenshire. The majority of these have been completed or are being reviewed to bring them up to date.
We will have a new monitoring framework in place to assess the impact of community planning in Aberdeenshire in the future. There are strategic objectives that have been identified for each theme. These are shown in detail in this plan under each community planning theme. In the future, as targets are being reviewed, we aim to include community input when setting objectives. We will do this by using the Local Community Planning Groups that will be established in each administrative area of Aberdeenshire. Over time, community members who attend this group will become more familiar with the operation of the community planning partnership and the individual partner organisations, and together with their knowledge of their local area, they will be able to give an informed contribution to
setting objectives.
Reporting
The partnership is committed to keeping the people of Aberdeenshire informed of progress that is made. We aim to do this through a variety of appropriate and cost-effective methods. This may include using existing community newsletters and local press and media to communicate information.
An annual report on community planning will be produced each year and will be distributed to all relevant or interested parties. This report will follow an annual review of the partnership’s work and will contain updates on progress as well as evidence for the future direction and priorities for the partnership.
Information will also be kept up-to-date on the Community Planning section of the Aberdeenshire Council website. This will also be an important tool in keeping communities and residents informed of the partnership’s work.
