Rosemary Elizabeth Bruce (Scottish Liberal Democrats) has been elected to serve as a councillor for the Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside multi-member ward.

A By-Election to fill a vacancy in Ward 15 (Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside) took place on Thursday, 23 April, 2009. Six candidates contested this election: Rosemary Elizabeth Bruce (Scottish Liberal Democrats), Wilson Morgan Forbes (Independent), David Hutchison (Independent), Roy David Jones (British National Party), George David Parkinson (Scottish National Party) and Jo Pick (Scottish Conservative and Unionist).
