In Aberdeenshire 12 beaches are currently sampled for bathing water quality on a weekly basis by th Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) during the summer months (June to September). The sampling results are then passed on to Aberdeenshire Council.

St Cyrus Beach and National NatureThe Council make the information available to the public by displaying it on notice boards at the relevant beaches. These notices indicate the bathing water quality (poor, good or excellent) at that particular beach.

Further information on Bathing Water Quality, including results, can be found on SEPA's website.
