Schools and Partner Agencies

Aberdeenshire Educational Psychology Service works in partnership with education establishments and other services such as Social Work and Health, as well as voluntary agencies. Educational Psychologists are allocated to area networks based on pupil roll and a weighting derived from the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD).
What do schools value about their EP's?
“In particular, during session 08-09 the work of the EP services has been invaluable in moving forward developments. The input has been supportive, sensitive, objective and instrumental in taking forward systems for supporting pupils.”
“Our EP's contribution is excellent (CBT, Peer Listening, Behaviour Management). They have helped review policy statements and had an input to training events on ASfL Act, CSN etc. They have been part of the whole school programme for probationers and students and have run twilight sessions for staff.”
What do teachers think about their CPD?
We have done some research into what teachers think. To find out please click on the link below:
The Role of Aberdeenshire EPS in A Curriculum for Excellence
The functions and roles of our service are directly linked to the four capacities that A Curriculum for Excellence is aiming to develop in young people. Please see below for a full overview.

The Educational Psychology Service is also part of the Integrated Assessment Framework(IAF). The aim of the IAF is to provide a means by which services for children will be able to gather and share information, assess needs, plan and co-ordinate services for individual children. The IAF is important for Aberdeenshire's children.
