Help and Advice
This section helps to guide applicants through the Funding Application process. It will build up over time as we receive feedback from users on what help is really needed and found to be helpful.
For guidance on completing your application and for advice in dealing with the budgetary aspects of your application, 2 free software programmes have been produced. These are called "Apply Yourselves" and "Budget Yourselves" respectively and can be accessed from the Funderfinder website: www.funderfinder.org.uk
Core Statistical Data
When you are completing an application form for EU or Lottery funding, there often is need to provide statistical information to give a context i.e. how many people may be likely to benefit from this proposal, etc.
Our website has several sources which may be relevant, for example:
Aberdeenshire Population
The main source for the structure of Aberdeenshire's population at different geographical levels - e.g. electoral wards (like Upper Deeside or Central Buchan), or settlements (like Inverurie or Ellon) - is the 2001 Census of Population.
This covers everything from age structure, sex, housing, employment, social conditions.
Statistics
Within our Statistics section, you can access:
- monthly unemployment rates
- detailed analysis of housing sites
- profiles of Aberdeenshire's administrative areas and towns
Deprivation Data
An important source of data is the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation. We have extracted the Aberdeenshire data, which by ward characterises 'relative' deprivation in terms of housing, education, employment and accessibility.
North East Scotland Economic Research
Aberdeenshire Council and its partners launched www.neser.org.uk, a set of 60 socio-economic indicators for Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Scotland accompanied by an economic review and employment forecasts for North East Scotland.
