Community Sport Hubs
Community Sports Hubs in Aberdeenshire
Aberdeenshire Council in partnership with Sportscotland are developing Community Sport Hubs across Aberdeenshire
This exciting legacy initiative will see local communities working together to increase sport and physical activity in their local area thus improving the health and well being of local people.
There are currently 8 Community Sports Hubs across Aberdeenshire. Each hub is very different but all Community Sports Hubs aim to bring sport and the community together to enhance sporting opportunities across Aberdeenshire.
Each Community Sports Hub centres around 5 key principles but has no set guidelines:-
- Growth in participation
- Engage the local community
- Promote community leadership
- Offer a range of sporting opportunities
- Bring all appropriate (key) partners/ groups/people together
Community Sports Hubs are always evolving and any area can set up their own Community Sports Hub. For more information and to investigate the possibilities of a Community Sports Hub in your area, please contact Andrew Watson via the contact details below.
