CDs

Whether you like Mozart or McFly you’ll find it on our shelves.  We have a large collection of CDs in the following categories:

  • Scottish music
  • Sound effects
  • Music for children

CDs can all be requested through the Library Catalogue and you will be informed when they are ready for collection. If you would like to request the purchase of a CD for library stock please use our online request form.

CDs are available in all our libraries and mobiles and are subject to a borrowing charge.

Law and Loan of CDs

Due to music industry restrictions, most new titles are not available to libraries until 3 months after the release date.  Titles can be reserved by borrowers during this period.

You should be aware that it is an offence to make a copy of any recording even for private use without the written permission of the publisher.

While you have CDs on loan please treat them carefully. We have provided some tips on CD care.

Music Loans

Do you run a choir or orchestra? The library service can help you obtain orchestral sets or vocal scores at minimum cost.
