Summer Reading Challenge 2008
Over 7000 children took part in the Summer Reading Challenge this year.
The Design a Mouse mat competition was hugely popular and the Aberdeenshire winners are pictured below with Author, Jonathan Meres and Councillor Richard Stroud, Chairman of the Education, Learning and Leisure Committee:
0-5 Blair Reekie, Peterhead- 6-8 Zoe Reid, Westhill
- 9-11 Emma Chalmers, Clatt
- 12-16 Angus MacLean, Methlick
The overall winner was Emma Chalmers and her design has been made into a mousemat which has been distributed to schools and libraries across Aberdeenshire.

The challenge was launched in June at the Bennachie Centre where children from Meldrum Primary School came along to meet author/illustrator, Nick Sharratt and then went on a nature walk with th
e Bennachie rangers.
