Museums in Aberdeenshire
Creating the future for Aberdeenshire's past for everyone
Aberdeenshire Museums Service is the museums section of Aberdeenshire Council's Education, Learning & Leisure Service. We operate 12 museums and visitor centres across Aberdeenshire, from Fordyce in the north to Stonehaven in the south.
Aberdeenshire Museums Service has been involved with the massive undertaking by the BBC, entitled A History of the World. The website and associated television and radio programms has now been launched. Involving hundreds of museums from all over Britain each selecting a couple of 'prime' objects to display on the website.
Aberdeenshire Council has two such objects from it's vast collections held at Mintlaw on the website. We will be able to add more as time goes by. Visit our Exhibitions page to view the objects and to see which museum they will be on display in.
There is free admission to all attractions.
