SEA Enviromental Report
Core Paths Strategic Environmental Assessment
A Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the draft Core Paths Plan is required by the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005. This Act is the implementing legislation for the European Directive, known as the SEA Directive.
The purpose of SEA
The purpose of SEA is to ensure that during the preparation of a plan, program or strategy (pps) the significant environmental effects of the pps are taken into account. Its aim is to prevent, reduce and offset any negative environmental impacts of the plan.
The SEA legislation requires that the findings of the SEA are published in an Environmental Report, which sets out the likely significant environmental effects of the plan.
The Environmental Report (pdf 938kb) is now available for public consultation for a period of eight weeks and a paper copy of the Report and Draft Plan are available to view at Aberdeenshire Council, Woodhill House, Westburn Road. Aberdeen AB16 5GB.
Please send your comments on the Report and draft Plan to Core Paths Plan. Aberdeenshire Council, Gordon House, Blackhall Road, Inverurie. AB51 3WA, or by email to cpp@aberdeenshire.gov.uk
The closing date for comment is Friday 14 0ctober 2011.
