Aberdeenshire Council Walking and Cycling Action Plan unveiled autumn 2009
Aberdeenshire Council is committed to encouraging more people in the region to walk and cycle more often. The development of the Council’s first Walking and Cycling Action Plan sets out how we are aiming to achieve
this.
Walking and cycling can have many positive economic, environmental and social impacts for the region. For example, walking and cycling are great forms of exercise that can contribute to improved health and well-being. By encouraging a change in travel behaviour in favour of walking and cycling, levels of congestion can be reduced, journey times improved, and in turn environmental and economic benefits delivered.
Aberdeenshire Council Accreditation for Cycling Activity
The Council Safety Policy for all adventurous activities is available from the council website at:
www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/outdoorlearning/safety.asp
