Graduation Ceremony
Graduation Ceremony
On Saturday 24th November 2007 the Education, Learning & Leisure Service held a Graduation Ceremony for staff and parents who had undertaken the Post Graduate Certificate in Autism. The Ceremony was held to celebrate the worked done by each individual, many of whom were also working and raising families at the same time. The course was run in collaboration with the University of Strathclyde and is the second group to have successfully graduated. Charlene Tait, Course director, University of Strathclyde presented the certificates. Pat Scott, Head of Service and Kathryn Smith, Education Officer SFL were there to recognise the achievements of the "graduates". Some have already started work on the next stage, the Diploma. Their work will now be used in schools across Aberdeenshire to develop good multi-agency practice to support children and young people with Autism.
The course is run on a multi-agency basis and includes Education staff, Social Workers and Speech and Language Therapists.
If you are interested in participating in the course then more information is available on the Strathclyde University website or by contacting Vaughan Jennings, Senior Education, Learning & Leisure Officer on 01224 664886 or vaughan .jennings@aberdeenshire.gov.uk.
