Tagging Rules
TAGGING KILLED SALMON
Aberdeenshire Council supports the Don District Salmon Fishery Board's Conservation Policy. Where anglers on the Council's fishings wish to kill a salmon or grilse, it must be in accordance with the conservation measures in the permit conditions and such fish must immediately be fitted with one of the unique numbered security tags supplied with the angling permit . Anyone purchasing a salmon, sea-trout and brown trout combined angling permit on-line must do so at least five working days in advance of the date of fishing if they wish to receive salmon tag(s).
Please note - No salmon or grilse may be killed prior to 1st June. Only fish under 6.35 kgs (14 lbs) or 83 cm (33 inches) in length may be killed.
