Action Programme

Request for Information - Action Programme, Housing Land Audit and Employment Land Audit

We recently sought information from the develoment industry on the programming and delivery of new development sites to help deliver development and infrastructure. We are currently collating information on those returned and will be chasing up those sites where we have not yet received a response or where there where changes following the receipt of the reporters recommendations.

Following adoption of the Local Development Plan the Council will be submitting an updated Action Programme to the Scottish Ministers. However actions are likely to have been subject to change since the Proposed Action Programme, particularly where more detailed information has become available and techncial assessments undertaken.

The updated version of the Action Programme will identify actions for the Council and other stakeholders involved in the development process to help deliver development and supporting infrastructure. The Action Programme will also include information on which to assess the deliverability of sites and when development is expected to commence. Actions to assist in the removal of any constraints identified will be included within the Action Programme and thereby help to deliver development.

Proposed Action Programme

This Proposed Action Programme supports delivery of the Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan. It identifies the actions which will help to, and serve as a tool, to implement the strategy of the plan. The Action Programme identifies what is required to deliver the policies and proposals within the plan, who is responsible for the delivery of the identified actions and timescales.

The Action Programme is a live document and will be continually updated to take account of changes, and further information as it comes forward and also to update on the progress of particular actions within the plan. As a live document further information will be added to provide a comprehensive overview of the key stages to support implementation of the strategy. Consultation with the development industry and key stakeholders is now underway to feed into the identified actions to ensure that sites remain deliverable.

The first Action Programme for the Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan will be finalised and published 3 months after adoption of the plan, probably in the summer of 2012.

This Draft Action Programme has been prepared to support the proposed plan, and in consultation and with iinput from key stakeholders. It is based on the best information available at the time of publication.
