Programmes and ActivitiesDetails of programmes and activities being delivered in Mintlaw : Pay as you play (w/c 29th August 2011)
The places are limited & will be allocated on a first come first serve bases. *Aberdeenshire council concessionary card holders at 50% reduction Sessions will not run on Bank Holidays or in-service Days Booking is Essential We require a completed booking form (Activity Consent Form) in order to confirm your place for any of the activities. All applicants will be phoned/texted with confirmation prior to activities commencing. Please ensure all contact details are correct. All forms should be returned by post or in person to Patricia Brown Active Schools Coordinator (see contact details below)
Cheerleading & Dance Activities "Cheerleading is an excellent activity to use with girls because as well as increasing their fitness levels and keeping them physically active, the sessions require the girls to work as a team and be creative.”

Longside Athletics Group Members of Longside Athletics Group have been given the opportunity to experience various coaching disciplines over the past 12 months including Hurdles, Shot Putt, Pole Vault and High Jump. The group has also participated in various competitions at Aberdeen Sports Village and events. Throughout the year the athletes all received Personal Best scores, which they can now strive to, improve for future competitions “Athletics encourages every child to participate and provides all abilities the opportunity to succeed and progress at individual levels, which builds on individual self-esteem and confidence.” All forms should be returned by post or in person to Patricia Brown Active Schools Coordinator (see contact details below)

Volunteer & Training Opportunities The Mintlaw Active Schools programme is always on the lookout for new volunteers to help within the schools. The success of the programme can only continue to be developed with the help of willing and enthusiastic parents. This may be to help in current activities, to sit on a committee or perhaps you would like to set up a new activity. |
