Afterschool Activities - Flyers and Booking Forms

NETBALL

Active Schools (Central) have organised a series of mini netball festivals for the new year. All school and community teams from the central area are welcome to attend. For more information see the flyer below.

BASKETBALL

There is a series of mini basketball festivals organised for 2012. Please see attached leaflet for details.

Active From the Start
Each School will introduce this programme to their Nursery classes. This will involve the children working on core competencies during the school day and they will then also receive a ‘Skill Bag’ to take home and perform the activities with their parents. Training workshops will be set-up to work with parents.

First clubgolf
Every P5 pupils is being introduced to Scottish Golf’s National Strategy for golf, clubgolf. They will complete a block of lessons involving modified golf equipment before then attending Westhill golf club to undertake the next stage of the programme. This proved to be very successful during the previous school year as the golf club was fully subscribed.

Young Leaders
Primary 6 children will once again have the opportunity to undertake the Sports Leaders UK Young Leaders Award. These skills will then be utilised to deliver activities for younger children in the school.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Westhill Active Schools programme is always on the lookout for new volunteers to help within the schools. The success of the programme can only continue to be developed with the help of willing and enthusiastic parents. This may be help in current activities or perhaps you would like to set up a new activity.
