Background information about Gold4Glasgow
The talent programme at the sportscotland institute of sport aims to help sport in Scotland find, develop and prepare athletes for elite competition with a key focus on the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Through identifying where our medal opportunities are in the Commonwealth Games, we aim to create opportunities to transfer athletes into new sports which offer real medal prospects.
To date, we have run projects to find new talent in road cycling, track cycling, judo, powerlifting and triathlon.
Gold4Glasgow - Netball
Our sixth Gold4Glasgow talent event focuses on women’s netball and provides an exciting opportunity for people to show they have what it takes in this demanding and dynamic sport.
In partnership with Netball Scotland, the National Governing Body for netball in Scotland, women’s netball has been identified as a potential future medal producing sport with a strong infrastructure to support talent programme athletes.
We’re looking for tall female athletes with the potential to compete for Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, 2014.They’ll need to be strong, fit and totally committed.
Successful candidates get the opportunity to work with coaches from Netball Scotland and includes individually tailored support from the sportscotland institute of sport.

We are part of the Education, Learning and Leisure Service of Aberdeenshire Council

We have a team of Sports Specific and Active Lifestyles Officers and a team of Active Schools Coordinators. We also have an army of coaches, leaders and instructors in a wide variety of sports
