Inverurie Duathlon
NOW Sunday 1st February 2009 ( 3rd Time Lucky )
Due to a bad weather forecast for Sunday 23rd & 30th we had to postpone this event. We have rescheduled this event for Sunday 1st February 2009. Could all registered entrants for this event please call 01467 628283 to confirm entry. We have also reopened entries until noon on Thursday 29/01/2009.

Location and Car Parking
From Aberdeen, follow signs for Inverurie At the end of the dual carriageway, turn right at the round about heading for Inverurie and Oldmeldrum.
On following the road through Inverurie you will need to turn onto Barclay Road, follow this road up to the top where you will enter the Car park for Kellands Park
Transition Area
The transition area is set up in the Car park on your Left hand side as you enter.
Run 1
The first run where all competitors start together will start on the grass, you will then run in a clockwise direction around the park following the dimple cones which you should keep on your right hand side, once you have done this you will exit the park and turn left onto Kellands Road and then left into Selbie Drive, follow Selbie Drive to the end where you will again turn left on to Anderson Walk, run up to the roundabout where you will follow the pavement again to the left.
From here you will run down Upperboat Road until you reach the Hospital
Grounds where you will turn left for about 10m and then left again when you reach the gate into Kellands Park, you will then turn left and do the route again for a second lap. Upon reaching the gate into Kellands Park for the second time, you will the proceed straight ahead passing the cricket pavilion on your right to the Transition area.
Cycle
On picking up your bike from the transition area run (do not mount) with your bike to the baffles where you will need to push or carry your bike through these, once through you may mount your bike. Follow Manse Road until it reaches St James's Place where you will turn right, Continue straight ahead following the yellow arrows until you come to Polinair Dam where you will turn right, continue along this Road until you reach Dubston Post where you will turn left. Keep going along this road which is an uphill section and you will come to a sweeping right hand corner with a fast decent to Balquhan Mains. At this T Junction turn left and follow this road into Chapel of Garioch where you will bear left. After approx 1.9km turn left heading for Burnhervie, stay on this road for the next 4.6km when you will turn left heading back towards Polinar Dam and Inverurie. Once you reach Polinar Dam follow the road round to the right heading back into Inverurie the same way as you left. Upon reaching Inverurie cycle down St James's Place until you reach Manse Road where you will turn left, cycle up Manse Road until you reach the baffles where you will dismount and push your bike back to the transition area.
Run 2
Run 2 follows exactly the same route as Run 1
