Fitness Classes

Aberdeenshire Council promotes and supports an active lifestyle for everyone in Aberdeenshire.

The team’s aims are to promote and support physical activity provision in its widest context and to provide essential knowledge of how and why physical activity interventions could help in promoting health gains.

Physical activity includes a broad range of occupational, leisure time, and daily activities. These activities can require light, moderate or vigorous effort and they can lead to improved health if practised regularly.

A strategy document for Scotland ‘Let’s make Scotland more Active' recommends that every adult should aim for at least 30 minutes or more of moderate intensity physical activity over the course of most days of the week, and for children and young people at least one hour of physical activity on most days of the week.
