Cashless Parking Trial

Between June 2011 and November 2011, Aberdeenshire Council in partnership with Parkmobile undertook a Cashless Parking system trial at Market Square Car Park, Stonehaven.

Cashless parking provides a different way to pay for parking, especially for those who don’t have any change and allows customers to extend their stay without having to return to their vehicle. It allows customers to use their mobile phone instead of inserting change into the Pay & Display machine. Payment is made using a registered credit or debit card.

The trial has now ended and the results of the trial are being analysed before a decision is reached on the potential further roll-out of this technology.
