Zoned areas where permits apply
Conditions of the Residents Permit Scheme
Where a resident lives within a pre-defined, approved zone then a permit may be issued subject to the following conditions:
- Permits will only be applicable to residential properties:
a) residents of properties which front directly onto the car park and where there is no adjacent road will be eligible for a permit
b) residents of properties which directly front car parks and where the adjacent road is subject to waiting restrictions or where there is genuine and persistent difficulty in obtaining an on-street parking space will be eligible for a permit
c) residents of properties which are in the immediate vicinity of car parks and where the adjacent road(s) is subject to waiting restrictions or where there is genuine and persistent difficulty in obtaining an on-street parking space may be eligible for a permit, subject to the approval of the local Area Committee
d) residents of properties where there is a private parking facility will not be eligible for a permit - A maximum of two permits will be issued per property. Proof of ownership of (responsibility for) the vehicle and proof of residence at the address will be required prior to issue of the permit. The registration number of the vehicle will be displayed on the permit
The permit will not be transferable to another vehicle - Permits may be transferable to another nearby car park where the original car park has limited capacity. In such circumstances both car parks will be indicated on the permit. The applicant will not be allowed to add any car parks to his/her permit
- A permit will be valid for one year or until the next change of vehicle, whichever is the lesser period. A charge of £20 will be made each time a permit is issued
- If you sell your vehicle and require a residents permit for your new vehicle the old permit should be handed into the office before another permit can be issued
- Spaces within car parks will not be reserved for permit holders
