Session 2008/09 - all dates inclusive

School starts on Tuesday 19 August 2008

  • October - Monday 13 October 2008 to Friday 24 October 2008
  • Christmas - Monday 22 December 2008 to Friday 2 January 2009
  • Mid-term - Monday 16 February 2009
  • Easter - Monday 6 April 2009 to Friday 17 April 2009
  • May Day - Monday 4 May 2009
  • Summer holidays start on Monday 6 July 2009

In-Service Closure Dates for 2008/09

The following dates have been set as closure days for Session 2008/09:

  • Monday 18th August 2008
  • Monday 17th November 2008
  • Tuesday 18th November 2008
  • Tuesday 17th February 2009
  • Wednesday 18th February 2009
  • Tuesday 5th May 2009

On 7 January 2009, the Cabinet Secretary for Education & Lifelong Learning announced that, in line with a recommendation from the Curriculum for Excellence Management Board, she would provide for one extra in-service day in the current school year and one in each of the next two school years, focused on the implementation of Curriculum for Excellence. Accordingly, the extra date for Session 2008/09 is Tuesday 5th May 2009.

Session 2009/10 - all dates inclusive

School starts on Tuesday 18 August 2009

  • October - Monday 12 October 2009 to Friday 23 October 2009
  • Christmas - Monday 21 December 2009 to Monday 4 January 2010
  • Mid Term - Monday 15 February 2010
  • Easter - Monday 29 March 2010 to Friday 9 April 2010
  • May Day - Monday 3 May 2010
  • Summer holidays start on Monday 5 July 2010

In-Service Closure Dates for 2009/10

The following dates have been set as closure days for Session 2009/10:

  • Monday 17th August 2009
  • Monday 16th November 2009
  • Tuesday 17th November 2009
  • Tuesday 16th February 2010
  • Wednesday 17th February 2010
  • Tuesday 4th May 2010
