The Community Alarm Scheme provides an emergency contact service to certain of our houses, linking them to a Control Centre, based in Aberdeen.

This Control Centre is operated 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

The Community Alarm Scheme allows two-way speech contact between the caller and the Control Centre, where the trained operators can immediately identify the caller and then take appropriate action. For each house connected to the Community Alarm Scheme, a number of volunteers are identified by the tenant who will respond in the event of an emergency arising, after being contacted by an operator at the Control Centre. These volunteers will visit the house to provide help to the resident if required. The Community Alarm Scheme operators can also contact emergency services, such as Ambulance, Police and Fire, the resident's doctor and also other individuals such as the resident's relatives, as required.

Further information and advice on the Community Alarm Scheme can be obtained from your local Housing Office.
