Programmes and Activities
Curling
In partnership with Curl Aberdeen, all P7 pupils in the Kemnay Network will attend taster sessions in curling as part of the Curling’s Cool Primary School Programme. The programme is an excellent opportunity for the children to learn the basics for curling in a 4 hour block of coaching. The programme provides a pathway in to the After School Club for children or the Saturday School. Further information on these clubs will be given to the children at the sessions.
Netball
This term all schools in the Kemnay network are hoping to set up Mini-Netball teams. A block of coaching will be rolled out in all schools with the hope that the children will enjoy the sessions and join an afterschool club. The goal is to hold festivals for the schools within the Kemnay Network and ultimately to play against schools from throughout Aberdeenshire.

Volunteer Opportunities
I am always on the lookout for volunteers as many of the activities run by Active Schools could not be sustained without the invaluable assistance of volunteers. The level of time or involvement you can offer is completely up to you, every little bit helps!
Specific volunteering opportunities at the moment include mini-netball afterschool clubs. If you have ever played netball and are just a little out of practice or maybe you still play and have a spare few hours during the week then I’d like to hear from you! Full training can be provided.
So if you have any spare time on your hands and would like to play a part in providing opportunities for children to be physically active, whether it be assisting with an existing activity or starting up a club yourself, please get in touch with me!
