What is Energetica

Energetica is a 30 mile development corridor extending from North Aberdeen to Peterhead. It is a global hub of energy-related knowledge, technology and commercial know-how, based within a world-class lifestyle and leisure environment.

Energetica is an ACSEF (Aberdeen City and Shire Economic Future) flagship project and is being led by Aberdeenshire Council, Aberdeen City Council and Scottish Enterprise. As the energy industry moves forward and as the renewable solutions agenda takes centre stage, Energetica will help to lead the way forward: a global hub of knowledge, technology and commercial know-how. And it all happens in a lifestyle and leisure environment that is similarly world class.

Energetica links key energy assets such as Aberdeen’s innovation and energy parks, the airport, Oceanlab and the Port of Peterhead and there are a range of opportunities including carbon capture storage, electricity grid upgrades, subsea high voltage direct current links between Scotland and the North of England and Norway, European Super Grid.
