East of Scotland European Consortium (ESEC)
The East of Scotland European Consortium (ESEC) is a non-statutory committee representing the interests of fourteen Eastern Scotland local authorities at a European level. The member councils are:
- Aberdeen City
- Aberdeenshire
- Angus
- Clackmannanshire
- Dundee City
- East Lothian
- Edinburgh City
- Falkirk
- Fife
- Mid Lothian
- Moray
- Perth and Kinross
- Stirling
- West Lothian
ESEC aims to:
- Establish and share policy knowledge and information on funding
- Lobby and petition on behalf of the East of Scotland
- Ensure EU and broader policy engagement
ABERDEENSHIRE COUNCIL AND ESEC
Aberdeenshire Council is represented on the ESEC Policy Board by Cllr. Michael Sullivan. As well as the Policy Board, which takes decisions, Aberdeenshire Council is represented by officers at Officer Group meetings and also on ad hoc groups dealing with specific issues.
