Grampian Chef of the Year 2010
Hospitality Training is searching for Grampian Chef of the Year 2010, with a Competition aimed at chefs working in the hotel, restaurant, and contract catering sectors.
The competition, now in its 15th Year, aims to raise the levels of culinary excellence in the North East, and in association with the Grampian Food Forum, promote the imaginative use of fresh, locally sourced and seasonal ingredients.
Due to the growing popularity of the event the entrants will be invited to cook the dishes submitted on their application in an elimination round, held at Aberdeen college, where the eight finalists will be chosen to compete in the final on the 24th of May. The final will be judged by a panel from the Federation of Chefs Scotland using international culinary marking criteria.
Chefs are invited to apply online via Hospitality Training’s website www.hospitality-training.org.uk .
The deadline for submission for entries is Monday the 26th of April 2010.
Prizes for the winners include specially commissioned trophies as well as the opportunity to showcase there talents at the Taste of Grampian on the 5th of June. Chairman of Hospitality Training, and Proprietor of the Marcliffe Hotel and
Spa said: “The competition recognises the wealth of talent we have in Grampian. It is very important that our chefs, especially young chefs, are encouraged to develop their skills and produce innovative dishes that will secure our reputation for culinary excellence for years to come!”
The day will culminate in an awards dinner hosted by the Marcliffe Hotel and Spa. Tickets are available from Hospitality Training at £45 each.
