New chairman for Grampian Food Forum
Operations Group as Denis bids farewell

Denis and ScottThe Grampian Food Forum Operations Group is to welcome a new chairman following the announcement that longstanding chair Denis Emslie, is to step down.

Denis, who is Sales Director for Mackie’s of Scotland, has held the chairmanship more than 12 years.

He is to be replaced by the Commercial Director with Dean’s of Huntly Ltd, Scott Kelman, who will be taking over the role later this month.

Reflecting on his role, Denis said he found his involvement with the Forum to be most enjoyable, especially the networking element, adding that he very much appreciates all the friends he has made over the years.

Denis said that as well as benefiting from the experience as chairman, the role has also been helpful to the growth of Mackie’s, with whom he has worked for 22 years.

Welcoming Scott to the group, Denis said: “I am delighted that Scott has accepted the role. He is a very capable and knowledgeable person, and I wish him and the forum every success for the future.”

New chairman Scott has a wealth of experience in supplying the retail, food service and speciality sectors, and has a good understanding of the issues affecting the local food industry.

Scott said: “Having been an active member of the Forum in its various formats for more than 15 years, I am delighted to accept the role of Chairman of the Operations Group.

“Grampian continues to be regarded as a leading region in the Scottish food industry, much of which can be attributed to the hard work of the Forum over many years.

“I hope that we can continue to lead and build on the excellent work through Denis Emslie’s leadership of the Operations Group over the past twelve years.”
