A to Z Index:

Explosives

The term explosive includes a wide range of items from fireworks and flares to shotgun cartridges and cartridges for car air bags.

Anyone storing explosives, other than in small quantities must be registered with or obtain a licence from the Council or Grampian police or a licence from the Health and Safety Executive. Generally only quantities of explosives in excess of 2000kg require an HSE licence.

If the explosives you wish to keep do not require you to have a police certificate issued under the Control of Explosives Regulations 1991 their storage is a matter for us. Grampian Police are responsible for registration and licensing if a police certificate is required.
