Yellow Pages and Phone Directory Recycling 19th May to 13th July
Over the next few weeks, homes across Aberdeenshire will be receiving their new 2008/09 edition of the Yellow Pages telephone directory.
From 19th May to 13th July, you can recycle your old Yellow Pages and any other telephone directories at special directory collection points at 14 Household Waste & Recycling Centres (HWRCs) and four Recycling Points.
It is important that the directories are only put in the special Yellow Pages collection containers. They should not be put in the normal paper recycling points, or in the kerbside paper recycling collection, as they are being collected in bulk for special separate recycling treatment.
Directories can be recycled at these HWRCs:
- Alford
- Banchory
- Ellon
- Fraserburgh
- Huntly
- Insch
- Inverurie
- Laurencekirk
- Macduff
- Peterhead
- Portsoy
- Stonehaven
- Turriff
- Westhill
Directories can also be recycled at these four Recycling Points only:
- Aboyne (Old Station Yard car park)
- Ballater (Church Square car park)
- Mintlaw (Council Depot, South Street)
- Portlethen (Asda car park)

Food Waste Kerbside Recycling Trial for Aberchirder, Banff, Macduff and Whitehills

This one year food waste recycling trial starts with the delivery of kerbside bins, kitchen caddies, liner bags and information during the week beginning 18th February. First collections start one week later from 25th February.
Now you can recycle even more electrical items
It's not just the big stuff. If it's got a plug, batteries, a circuit board or electrical contacts, it's electrical. From a humble fluorescent tube to a giant fridge/freezer and much more besides. We are in the process of putting more electrical recycling facilities in our Household Waste & Recycling Centres (HWRCs).
Full time HWRCs will recycle the full range of electrical items. Part-time HWRCs will recycle items other than Gas Discharge Lamps (fluorescent lighting).
Please use these facilities and prevent this harmful waste going to landfill.
The Hatton HWRC electrical appliance facilities are expected to be complete soon.
Garden Waste Recycling and Composting
It's that time of year again. See the Composting and Garden Waste pages for helpful information on recycling and composting your garden waste.
