Household Batteries

How to Recycle Household Batteries?
See Also:
We are running a two year Household Battery Recycling Trial, funded by Waste Resources Action Programme (WRAP).
If you received a Pink Bag you are eligible to take part in this trial.
Please place your batteries in the Pink Battery Recycling Bags and place in your Recycling Box for collection. The battery bags also get recycled.
Please do not place them loose in the box as this makes them very difficult for crews to sort from other materials and pick up wearing safety gloves.
Types of batteries that can be recycled are: AA, AAA, Size C and D, Button, Mobile Phone or Laptop.
When to Recycle Household Batteries?
Collections take place every second week if you stay in an Urban Community and you have received a Pink Battery Recycling Bag. Find out which day of the week your Recycling is collected by downloading a Collection Calendar.
If you stay in a Rural Community or you have not received a Pink Battery Recycling Bag, please take your recycling to your nearest Household Waste and Recycling Centre or Recycling Point.
