Weekly Recycling Trial for North Aberdeenshire Rural & Urban Homes

Weekly recycling containers7,500 homes in northern Aberdeenshire are to be given the chance to take part in a Weekly Recycling Trial, starting 18th May 2009. For the first time, rural homes will also be able to recycle a wide range of materials from the roadside.

Recycle Even More Types of Paper

Paper and RecyclingNow you can recycle even more types of paper thanks to our agreement with UPM-Kymmene's Shotton Paper Mill. This includes some types of paper that you previously could not recycle, such as white envelopes (even with plastic windows), greetings cards (without glitter) and telephone directories and Yellow Pages.

The online versions of the 11 Handy Hints are in A4 format so you can easily print them off as reminders or as posters (or why not save paper and just keep them on your desktop).

Calendar
You can check your recycling or refuse collection day and week by using our Local Information Interactive Map. Just put your address in the sapce above the map and then click on 'Recycling' in the menu below the map. It will also show you recycling facilities in your area. Rural Collection Routes

Communities not in the list above are classed as Rural Communities (less than 300 households). These households will receive a four-weekly collection of a Wheeled Blue-Lidded Paper Recycling Bin. They are also supplied with a Recycling Box but this is NOT collected. It is provided to store recyclates or transport them to Recycling Points or Centres.

The exception to this arrangement is rural households north and west of the River Deveron, previously on a Yellow Monday/Tuesday four-weekly paper recycling collection route. These will change to WEEKLY RECYCLING as part of a trial being run from 18 May, 2009. As part of this trial, they WILL have their Recycling Boxes collected, along with the White Paper Recycling Sack and Food Waste Bin (all of which will be put out in the Blue-Lidded bin on collection day).
