Waste Aware Guide
![]()
The WasteAware Guide was sent out to all households when we introduced kerbside recycling services and fortnightly refuse collections. It is designed as a quick reference tool to check information on waste services and to provide basic information on how to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle household waste. It is also designed to be updated with minimal waste and uses recycled materials.
The most up to date information on waste services will always be on the relevant pages of this website. However, if you prefer to have printed information for quick reference, you can now download PDF versions of all of the Waste Aware Guide inserts.
These PDFs are laid out so that you can print them off at home on A4 paper (please print double-sided if you can) and so that you can just put them into any A4 binder or document wallet if you do not have one of the Waste Aware Guide binders. If you do have one of these, you can just concertina fold the A4 prints and hole-punch the left hand edge of the first page to make them fit.
Please keep the guide up to date and leave it for the next occupier if you move home. The inserts that we issue to update it will often be particular to your address and services in your area.
If you did not receive a copy of the guide and would like one, please Contact Us.
Large print versions of the guide inserts are also available.
Which version of the guide inserts to print
Sections 3 and 7 are the only sections of the guide which vary by recycling or refuse collection route. Section 3 (Urban, Week 1 or 2) includes the collection calendar for urban routes. Households on rural routes should download section 3 (Rural) for the blue-lidded paper recycling bin collection and Section 7 (Rural Week 1 or 2) for the refuse bin collection.
To find out whether you are on a 'Week 1' or 'Week 2' collection route, please check the sticker or letter supplied with your refuse bin or recycling containers. If you do not have this information, you can check by contacting us. Please have your address and post code available.
