Drinks Cans
Drinks cans and food cans can be recycled together. Please empty and rinse out.
Food Cans
Food cans and drinks cans can be recycled together. Please empty and rinse out.
Kettles
Electric kettles can be recycled with other electrical items at a Household Waste & Recycling Centre.
Fruit and Vegetables
Fruit and veg, if it is wasted, can be composted if it is uncooked. Otherwise, it can go in a Green Cone. If you have a food waste collection (currently only in the weekly recycling trial area), it can go in there.
Plastic Milk Bottles
Plastic milk bottles can be recycled with other plastic bottles. Please empty, rinse out and squash. Drop the lid in your refuse unless you can squash the bottle before putting the lid back on.
Microwave
Microwave ovens can be recycled with other electrical items at a Household Waste & Recycling Centre.
Glass Bottles
Glass bottles and glass jars can be recycled together. Please empty and rinse out.
Washing Liquid Bottles
Washing up liquid bottles can be recycled with other plastic bottles. Please empty, rinse out and squash. Drop the lid in your refuse unless you can squash the bottle before putting the lid back on.
Washing Powder Boxes
Washing powder boxes will probably be brown cardboard, so should go in a Cardboard Recycling Point. If they are white or grey card, you can also put them in your paper recycling.
Cereal Boxes
Cereal packets can go in with your paper recycling if they are white or grey card. Brown cardboard should only go in a Cardboard Recycling Point, never in paper recycling.
Jars
Glass jars can be recycled with your glass bottles. Please empty and rinse out.
Tea Towels
Tea towels can be recycled at a Textile Recycling Point. Please wash textiles and put them in a plastic bag to protect them before putting them in the Recycling Point.
Laundry Liquid Bottles
Laundry liquid bottles can be recycled with other plastic bottles. Please empty, rinse out and squash. Drop the lid in your refuse unless you can squash the bottle before putting the lid back on.
