Scottish Welfare Fund

The Scottish Welfare Fund is administered by councils in Scotland to provide financial support to people who are facing a crisis or need help to live in the community. It is normally a one-off grant for living expenses or household goods:

Appeal a decision

If you disagree with the outcome of a claim you should ask us to review our decision, explaining why you don't agree. This is called a first tier review.

If you are still unhappy with our decision you can ask the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman to carry out an independent review. The Ombudsman is not part of the council and the service is free.
