COVID-19 Strategic Framework Business Fund

If a business is required to close by law or to significantly change its operations due to COVID-19 restrictions from 2 November 2020, it may be eligible for this grant funding. Whether a business is eligible will depend on where its premises are located and what level of restrictions are in place at any point in time.

6th February 2021

Any applications for the Strategic Framework Business Fund submitted from this date onwards will not be eligible for the top-up payment (pdf 129KB)

The top-up payment will be automatically issued to eligible applicants who successfully applied by Friday, 5 February 2021.

The Strategic Framework Business Fund remains open to applications for business forced to close by law.

18th January 2021 update from Scottish Government

A package of business support worth £185million will be made available to target specific sectors. More details about this support, including eligibility criteria and the application process, will be announced in due course by Scottish Government. Businesses eligible for grants due to closures and restrictions

Please check the list of eligible business types and sectors before applying or contacting Aberdeenshire Council.

If you applied during November and December 2020

Businesses that have been paid temporary closure or restrictions grants during November and December 2020 will be eligible for the temporary closure grant during lockdown restrictions and don't need to reapply.  Adjustments will be automatically applied where required. 

Due to the volume of applications received, any incomplete or incorrect applications may result in a delay to payment. Please be assured that payments will be made weekly and your grant will be backdated if there is any delay to payments.

Business Temporary Closure Grant

The business temporary closure grant is for business required to close by law:

  • £2,000 for premises which have a rateable value of up to and including £51,000
  • £3,000 for premises which have a rateable value of £51,001 or above

The grant is payable every four weeks in arrears for the duration the protective measures to close the business apply and if the business continues to meet eligibility criteria.

To apply please download the application form and submit the completed form to Grants are paid to successful applicants in arrears every 4 weeks. Eligible claimants who miss this deadline will receive back dated payment in the February scheduled payment.
