Gordon Leisure Projects Trust
The Garioch Leisure Projects Trust was set up by the Gordon District Council, initially to hold capital monies for the development of a large sports and recreation facility in the area.
Once this facility was developed the interest accrued was retained and made available to make grants to groups in the former Gordon District Council area towards sports and recreational activities.
The grant scheme has been so successful that all the funding has now been allocated and is closed to further applications.
Over the years the Trust has funded a wide range of activities across the Gordon District area, such as:
Name of organisation | Project |
Ythan Cycle Club | Grant put towards the cost of a feasibility study for The Ellon Wheel Park project (a BMX and skate area, a mountain bike pump track and a cycle circuit) |
Alford 50+ Indoor Bowling Club | Replacing one of three bowling carpets |
